A Pillar of Modern RPGs
The Divinity series is highly rated and it's fair to claim it sparked the recent resurgence of complex computer role-playing games. These games are defined by rich lore, branching plots, and deep class systems—traits that subsequently reached new heights in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
While its setting is classic fantasy, what truly sets Divinity apart is the remarkable agency given to the player.
While numerous modern RPGs have simplified options, Divinity is full of specialized paths you can achieve if you're playing as a specific type of character with a personal story.
The series is also wonderfully permissive, letting players to experiment in narrative and gameplay. Nearly every quest can be solved in multiple ways, often in unexpected fashion.
